Computer viruses infect millions of computers every day. Viruses can destroy data, steal important information, and even make a computer completely unusable. When a computer is infected by a virus it is imperative that the virus be removed as quickly as possible.

If a computer is infected by a computer virus the computer needs to be scanned by virus scanning software. If you do not have virus scanning software than you have a few choices.

You may buy some software at your favorite computer store or download one of the many antivirus software titles available.

We recommend Avast Antivirus as it does a very good job at getting rid of most viruses and has a boot-time scan. This increases your chances of being able to remove the virus once you find it.

No antivirus is perfect however, so sometimes a technician to fix the problem and go over some web-safety tips may be in order.
